Did you ever hear the saying, "Money is the root of all evil?"
Where'd the saying come from?  The Bible?  Well, I guess that's where it seems like it came from, but that's NOT actually what the Bible says!
What the Bible actually says is this...
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  1 Timothy 6:10

Meaning?  Meaning that it's not money, but the love of money, that causes problems; meaning that if the desire for money is stronger than the desire to do what is right, trouble and sorrow will follow.  Is money (or the things it buys you) more important than time with your family?  More important than enjoying your work?  More important than an ethical business deal?  More important than peace, joy, love, harmony?  Is having, more important than giving?  If yes, this is the root of all evil, the root of walking away from the path that is right, the path that feels truly right in your heart, the path that leads to true joy and fulfillment, and stumbling down the path that leads to sorrow and ultimate emptiness.  But, what does God have for those who walk rightly?

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and
not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

Money only makes you more of what you already are.  If you're a giver, you'll be a bigger giver.  If you're a taker, you'll be a bigger taker.  What will more money do for you?
